The Weather Outside Is Frightful,

But The Royal Oak Is So Delightful!

If you book our festive menu for lunch or dinner, on arrival you can sip mulled wine or delicious sparkling wine whilst meeting friends and colleagues next the open log fire. You and your guests then take your seats, followed by a delightful two or three course meal prepared by our team of chefs. This traditional Dartmoor inn is a great place to relax and enjoy your get together with friends and family during the run up to Christmas.

Christmas Menu

Three course party menu available lunch and dinner from Thursday 1st December until Thursday 22nd December - £19.95 per person.
(Two Course Menu at £16.95 per person)

Starters Home made Soup (v)  Pumpkin and chestnut soup with pumpkin seed bread.  Smoked Salmon  Lime cured gravadlax salmon with horseradish creme fraiche and guacamole.  Christmas Pate Our own chicken liver, sherry and cranberry pate, with a date and nectarine chutney and a winter salad. Mains Roast Turkey Local West Country turkey crown, served all the festive trimmings, cranberry, tarragon & apricot stuffing, bacon wrapped chipolata, and root vegetable dauphinoise.  Tomato & Basil Tarte Tatin (v)   Home made cherry tomato & basil tarte tatin with a grape, rocket & pumpkin seed salad, thyme & shallot relish.   Venison steak  Local venison steak with crispy streaky bacon served with a port and redcurrant sauce and with root vegetable dauphinoise.   Desserts Lemon Posset (v)  Home made posset with cranberry compote and shortbread.   Chocolate Mousse (v)   Cappuccino, Tia Maria and chocolate mousse with toasted mini marshmallows.  Traditional Christmas Pudding (v) A rich fruit pudding served with brandy sauce and Devon clotted cream.

How to book your meal

Our Festive Menu will be available Lunch and Dinner time from Thursday 1st December until Thursday 22nd December.

A non-refundable deposit of £5 per person secures your booking.  A receipt will be issued
and the deposit deducted from your final account payable following your function.
